About Sliding Puzzle
Sliding Puzzle is the classic sliding tile puzzle, made to be quick to open and pleasant to play: a wooden tray, tiles that click into place, and nothing between you and the board.
What you'll find here
42 levels in two tracks. The numbers track runs from gentle 3 × 3 boards to 5 × 5 ones; the pictures track breaks a picture into tiles for you to put back together.
Every level is a fixed starting board rather than a random shuffle, so everyone plays the same puzzle. Each one has been solved by computer to find its optimal number of moves, which is what the stars are measured against.
Fair leaderboards
Every level has two leaderboards: fastest time and fewest moves. When you post a result, the server replays your moves on the level's board and only accepts the result if they really solve it. There are no accounts; your browser gets a random player name, which you can change in Settings, and you can keep your results off the boards altogether.
How we build it
- Free to play, with no sign-up and no download.
- No ads in the way of the game.
- Your progress stays in your browser. The leaderboard only receives your results if you take part, and analytics follows your cookie choice.
- Works with a mouse, a keyboard or a touch screen, and respects your device's reduced-motion setting.
